• Chamber Orchestra

    • Varsity Orchestra

The Middle School Chamber Orchestra is the Orchestra that plays music on a higher skill level. We learn at a higher rate of speed than the other orchestras do and it is expected that you will devote much of your time to practice and learning the extended techniques and music you are taught. To be in the Middle School Orchestras, you have to be ready to work! For the past four years this ensemble has received the Sweepstakes award at UIL and we intend to keep it going for many more!

  • String Orchestra

    • Non Varsity Orchestra

The String Orchestra plays music that is more on level for Orchestra students of this age level. It is still expected that they will work hard and practice, and will learn techniques based on their age level. These students will learn at a moderate rate of speed and will learn pieces of music for Fall, the holidays, UIL, and Spring. The difficulties will vary based on how the group works together as they grow. To be in the Middle School Orchestras, you have to be ready to work! This ensemble has earned excellent ratings at UIL for the past two years. We would love to keep that going and eventually earn a Sweepstakes!

  • Beginner Orchestra

This is the first year we will have a Beginning Orchestra at Piner Middle School and I am very excited for this opportunity. This Orchestra is made up of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders that are new to Orchestra. This is a judgement free ensemble where we all start fresh on day one and learn how to do it together! This Orchestra does not go to UIL Contest, but it is expected that students only need to be in this ensemble for one year. Students in this Orchestra must work to be #BearcatStrong!
